|
|
Hello All,
I read in a few places on this forum that Soya Bean products can be harmful to the body in the long run and should be limited? Can anyone provide more detail?
I changed from regular milk to soya milk and yoghurt and now am a bit concerned about this.
Thanks for any help! |

The problems associated with too much soy is that it can be damaging to thyroid and adrenal glands. 2-3 times a week is sufficient. You may want to switch to Rice milk instead. It's really easy to make. _________________ Diana (44)

According to certain sources of mine (including John Thomas, author of Young Again) and the website shirley'swellnesscafe, soy and canola products should be avoided as much as possible. I don't remember all the medical science stuff but they're supposed to have a clumping effect on red blood cells which can cause all kinds of problems. Canola comes from rape seed which is supposed to be toxic (even to animals and insects?!). It's confusing because these products have been touted as health foods but there's often a lot of commercial agenda behind the info we receive. I personally found rice milk to be palatable but then discovered there was canola oil added to it, so discontinued that.
Hope this helps! |

I make my own, from scratch, so it never has in it anything that I can't have. If you want, I can share my method with you. It's really easy and doesn't take all that much time. _________________ Diana (44)

Take 1 cup cooked brown rice and add 4 cups of boiling water, in a blender (cover the top of the blender with a tea towel, so steam can escape and not to splash all over you). Blend for about 4-5 minutes.
Strain in a cheese cloth.
I like to add some xylitol (alkaline sweetener) and some vanilla to taste. Store in a covered container in the fridge and enjoy.
It's really very simple. _________________ Diana (44)

Hi Friends,
ya, Soyabin is very useful for health. It has been part of chinese diet for many centiries. Soya bins are mainly used for extracion of soya oil which is used as cooking oil. Soya protein and isoflavones lowers LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and also decreases blood clotting, which help in reducing your chances of heart attack and stroke. _________________ grossesse |

The problem with Soy products is that it is known to cause problems with the thyroid and adrenals. That is why I make brown rice milk instead of making soy milk. I have made soy milk, but I did have major problems with my adrenal glands, which caused me to switch over to making rice milk, so I didn't aggravate the problem. I can have as much rice milk as I like without it causing adverse problems with any of my body systems.
Soy products should only be consumed no more than 3 times per week, according to all of the literature I've read on the subject. _________________ Diana (44)
