I am delighted to find a forum like this! My name is Laurel. I am a working solo mother of a five year old.
About a year ago I read Ph miracle and made huge changes in my diet yet as I was so riddled with toxins, I was sick for the full 6 weeks with a everlasting cold, I couldn't have a day off work and there is never a day off anyway when your a mum! So I reverted back to my old style of eating.
Now a year later I am attempting this eating approach again as two things happened in my life- Work has increased my hours, I was too tired working a couple of days a week- now I was to work 5 days each week in the most physically demanding position (I work in childcare) I had to find energy from somewhere!
The other thing that happened is a friend of mine has developed a tumor in her lymph glands. I want to help her yet my knowledge and advice holds no weight when I don't practice what I know. I am hoping as she sees me getting healthy she may be interested in my approach.
Well that's it, I have been eating alkaline for about 3 weeks and apart from aches and pains on the first week (that got me a bit scared, I thought that dreaded cold was coming back!) I have been fine. I was hoping I would need to sleep less yet instead I crave my 8-9 hours sleep I'm asleep by 9 and up at 6 each day- I want to begin studying yet I need more hours in the day!
I fed my son alkaline meals and he is a good sport. He would rather have a energetic mother then a hamburger! He's has been a bit of a brat at school yet already I am getting better reports from his teachers since I changed his diet.
Well I hope to develop some friendships on this forum, it will be nice to befriend people with the same interest. I mild down my interest to my friends as they think I am nuts to give up alcohol let alone dairy. I get strange looks if I am seen munching on a salad for lunch and they look horrified when I turn down our daily chocolate cake in our lunch room. |
