Hi All,
Many people come to the AA Diet and Forum due to health issues and it is important that when incorporating the AA Guidelines with any Herbal or other Supplement suggestion, that these should be looked into for possible side effects with any current medications one is taking as well as considerations with Allergies and/or Intolerances one may currently have.
To check on a supplement's possible side effects, especially if taking a med can use these links:
Herbal Interactions with Medications, this one is by Herb Name:

This one can look up Medications and Herbs by Drug Class, Health concern, Brand name, or Supplement (Drop down menus)

The Goal of the AA Diet is to be off meds and the body healed. It's best to work with your Health Care Practitioner on weaning off your meds and using the Guidelines with Herbal and Supplement assistance towards the end of Renewed Health. Herbals and Supplements are used to assist the healing process in a much gentler way than medications and should be used as they have been approved for: Dietary Supplements.
Most should not need life-long herbals and supplements as the diet provides our nourishment in spades when properly balanced... but, depending on the person and their degree of repair needed, some do need the assistance long-term, ie: Some Diabetics may still need supplements such as Cinnamon to assist usage of insulin long-term due to genetic factors and/or the degree of damage.
Herbals and Supplements should augment the diet and not be used in place of the Guidelines as the healing process requires good eating habits and lifestyle practices; such as daily 20 minute walks in the sunshine, deep breathing exercises, and alone time for quiet meditations/thoughts/prayers.
So look to one's Healing Process as a Lifestyle Change to get you there. It takes patience, fortitude, and commitment with some insight and wisdom with it's Guidelines on what will work best for the individual. Be wise with your body and be gentle... Many do best with daily gradual changes until the goal is met, developing their better eating and living practices for long-term Health. Others do best with seemingly dramatic changes in lifestyle. It's very individual, so don't beat yourself up if you "fall off the wagon." Just pick yourself up, and continue forward.
Wishing All the Best In Health,
Yours,
